Photography Workshops

Some of the things we’ll be chatting about are:

-Working in manual mode, exposure, and how to take a properly balanced image.  This will include exercises and in-depth explanations of aperture, ISO, and shutter speed and how they operate together to help you take great images.

-White Balance and how it affects your photographs.  We will expand on this with discussions about natural and available light and how best to use these lights sources.

-Composition and how to make your photographs stand out.

My goal is to give you a better understanding of your DSLR and guide you through the steps so you’re able to use your camera to its full potential!  Together we will discuss the elements that will help you take better photographs and feel more comfortable using your DSLR in manual mode.  This class is designed for beginner and amateur photographers who are looking to learn the basics of photography, have a desire to get to know their cameras, and shoot in manual mode.

This is a one-on-one workshop which takes approximately 3-4 hours. These workshops are typically hosted at a Regina coffee shop or restaurant in addition to a secondary location to practice what you’ve learned. I am available for travel, however workshops taking place outside of the immediate Regina/Lumsden area may be subject to travel fees. There will be opportunity for hands-on learning and open discussion throughout this workshop. I will be available after the workshop for support and questions as  you practice photography and refine your skills! Please note, throughout wedding season, these workshops will only be offered Monday – Friday.

What you’ll need : a DSLR camera and lens, your camera’s manual, and a willingness to have fun and learn to use your camera.

**I have written a digital workbook specifically for these classes.  This workbook will include everything we will be discussing.  This book is included in your class enrollment fee and is yours to refer back to as you continue to practice what you learned in class and refine your skills! This workbook will be delivered digitally once your seat has been booked for you to review before your workshop.**

Cost : $225 +GST per student (payment may be made by e-transfer, cash, or cheque) – Payment must be made to reserve your workshop date.  Enrollment costs are non-refundable.

This workshop option is best suited to photographers who are confidently shooting in manual mode and are comfortable with their photography gear. This is a one-on-one workshop which can take place face-to-face over coffee in Regina/Lumsden or online via Skype or Facetime. I am available for travel, however workshops taking place outside of the immediate Regina/Lumsden area may be subject to travel fees. This workshop is your opportunity to ask me anything! It is customized to what you’re hoping to learn. I’m open to discussing anything from photography techniques, business, inspiration, and beyond!

This workshop option is scheduled for a one-hour time block. One week prior to the workshop students must submit a list of topics/questions they’re hoping to cover during their one hour workshop. I’ll create a copy of notes based on these topics/questions for students to keep after their workshop.
