I actually did this shoot with this beautiful lady a few weeks ago but am just blogging it now. It was a beautiful winter afternoon and Katie joined me for a ‘just for fun’ shoot. I don’t have the opportunity to do this type of shoot very often, so it was fun for me to do something a little different. I am definitely itching to do a shoot like this again in the near future!

Hello everyone! Later this month I’m teaming up with professional hair and make-up artist Chelsey Guillaume for some boudoir sessions in the gorgeous rooms of The Hotel Sask in Regina, SK. We are doing a marathon shoot on Saturday January 28th, 2012. These sessions are $300 and include a disc with a minimum of 50 high-resolution retouched images as well as 25 prints in a beautiful photo box. Jeff and Amber : Birth Preview

This year on Christmas Eve I had the pleasure of witnessing another birth! I truly wish this was more popular around here because it is one of the most amazing things to document. This time it was for my dear friends, Jeff and Amber. I plan on doing a full post at a later date to share some more of their photos and I’ll write a bit more about it at that time, but I have one photo I really wanted to share before that happens. I absolutely love the emotion in this photo! The look on Amber’s face, the first time she caught a glimpse of her son is so raw and I hope it shows you all just one of the many reasons why I love being involved in something so powerful.

Stephanie and Ryan : Engaged!

These two are adorable! I’m going to be shooting their wedding next summer and I’m already excited to work with them again. I have to tell you about her ring because it’s just too precious to not share the story. It’s one thing to be proposed to by the one you are in love with, the one you want to spend the rest of your life beside. However, it’s an entirely different story when that proposal also comes with a completely handmade ring by your now fiancee! Ryan actually made Stephanie’s ring for her from titanium and it’s beautiful and unique, and truly one-of-a-kind!

Yesterday was an absolutely beautiful day down here in the valley. I was joined by a wonderful family who happens to live just up the street from us. For such a small town I was shocked we had never met before! Becky and Rob : Birth Photography

Today, I want to share one of my most meaningful shoots to date. While in University I had the pleasure of meeting a wonderful couple, Rob and Becky. Over the years we grew to be friends and a while ago they found out they were expecting their first little one. They contacted me and asked me to take their maternity photos and I was extremely excited to be able to capture this special time in their lives. From there we started talking about doing birth photography. Birth photography is something that has always interested me, and something I had always wanted to experience, but whenever I mentioned it to anyone they looked at me as though I had a screw loose. So, when Becky and Rob expressed a genuine interest in it I was beyond excited! It is something which is undoubtedly much more popular in the United States than it is here, but I’m hoping I will hear from more people who are interested doing something like this.

It was the middle of October and I finally received the “it’s time!” phone call. I frantically gathered my things and head out the door. Later that evening, they were holding their beautiful baby boy and I was there to witness the entire thing. I’m getting goosebumps all over again, just from thinking about it. It was honestly one of the most amazing experiences of my entire life and I will be forever-grateful that they allowed me to share such an intimate moment with them.

Please note that none of the photos I have posted below are graphic by any stretch of the imagination. They are however, sensitive in nature. I realize that this might not be the type of photo shoot that everyone agrees with and that is ok. I would like to consider this space a safe space and for you all to see just how beautiful new life is. Becky and Rob were gracious enough to invite me into their home and allow me to document little Linus’ arrive, and also give me permission to share their photos here with all of you, so please respect that.

I had the privilege of photographing this beautiful couple, their gorgeous puppy, and their oh-so-cute baby bump last weekend! It was a beautiful winter afternoon, so much so that we were even able to take a couple of bare belly shots at the end of the shoot. I wish you guys all the best in this new chapter of your lives!

Baby Ben : Newborn

A week or so ago I traveled up to Saskatoon to photography this little guy. This is the second time I have had the privilege of joining this family for photos,who was previously only 2 + 4 puppies. As you have probably noticed, they are now 3 + 4 puppies Baby Ben in only a week old in these photos and my goodness was he ever a good little model!
