There is always something unique about the energy of New Year’s Eve weddings. A new year, bubbling champagne, the big countdown, all of it just adds to the excitement of an already happy and love-filled day. Jessica and Braeden’s wedding was no exception to this and I think the photos speak for themselves. These two just wanted to have fun, soak in the day, and enjoy their time with family and friends. I love photographing weddings, but I REALLY love photographing New Year’s Eve weddings <3  Here’s a few of my favorites from this year’s celebration at the Hotel Saskatchewan in Regina.

A few months ago I had the absolute pleasure of joining the most wonderful family out at Lake Louise for family portraits! I love every opportunity I get to shoot out in the mountains so if anyone out there is looking for photos like this it will take next to zero convincing to get me to meet you where the air smells of pine trees and we’re surrounded by scenery like this <3

A few weeks ago I met up with Jean for her pet session. I have had to privilege of working with Jean and her family in the past, but this session, was all about her 🙂 I absolutely LOVE photographing these pet sessions, they make my heart so happy! I hope you enjoy looking through Jean’s session as much as I did photographing it.

“I have for the first time found what I can truly love–I have found you. You are my sympathy–my better self–my good angel–I am bound to you with a strong attachment. I think you good, gifted, lovely: a fervent, a solemn passion is conceived in my heart; it leans to you, draws you to my centre and spring of life, wrap my existence about you–and, kindling in pure, powerful flame, fuses you and me in one.”

When we were in the final planning stages for Emma and JR’s wedding we were discussing their ceremony. Emma told me that a lot of the time, the drums they were planning to play at the ceremony would call in eagles and that if an eagle did circle their ceremony site, it’s good luck for their marriage. While the bridal party was getting lined up and the drums were starting the ceremony, an eagle circled above the three tipis JR’s family set up for their ceremony. I get goosebumps just typing this!  That feeling, that’s what the entire day felt like <3

I recently had the privilege of celebrating Megan and Gavin’s wedding day with them! They split their day between Regina and White City with a warm outdoor park ceremony in Regina followed by a beautiful reception out in White City. These two were SO much fun to work, which I’m sure is evident from their smiles in every photo. Here are a few preview photos from Megan and Gavin’s wedding day!

First looks, ice cream trucks, the Moose Jaw Trolly, homemade donuts, customized growlers, and the sweetest couple, with the most adorable little girl and puppy – this wedding will filled with the best of the best! I thoroughly enjoyed every single second of Narath and Josh’s Moose Jaw wedding day! Here are a few of my favorite photos from their celebration 🙂

Last weekend I was out in Elbow to celebrate Tessa and Mike’s wedding day. They were married on Mike’s family farm and then headed to their fields for photos after they said their ‘I do’s’! We were even able to make a stop at a church that has been a very special part of the family for a long time now. Here are a few photos from Tessa and Mike’s big day!

This was THE BEST speech I’ve ever witnessed! The Toast to the Groom was set up by one of the groomsmen as an escape room/scavenger hunt type of speech. Each clue had to be solved by the groom and told a story about an event in his life. It was SO fun and well thought out!

This wedding made me really happy! Leah, Curtis, and everyone involved in their big day were just so nice, and an absolute dream to work with. I loved wandering around the warehouse district with their bridal party. Later in the day we packed up and headed out to White City to meet up with their two little girls for some portraits before their said their vows at the White City Community Centre. It was a gorgeous day and I walked away with a huge smile on my face. I hope you enjoy these photos as much as I did photographing them!

Last weekend I joined Jen and Paul in Regina for their intimate wedding. We met up in Wascana Park and wandered around a few spots throughout the city for their photos. It was Craven weekend so the city was quiet, but it 100% suited their wedding which was calm and relaxed the entire day through. Here are a few of the photos from their beautiful Regina celebration!

Everything about this day was just SO special. No element or person was overlooked and everywhere I turned I was met with heart-felt details. Everything from the most stunning ceremony space I’ve ever seen to their Venezuelan La Hora Loca was just perfect!  I hope you enjoy looking through the photos of Andrea and Daniel’s special day as much as I did photographing them <3

As Kristin’s coffee mug says, best day ever! Throughout the day, I overheard her Dad offer the words ‘Stay smiling’ to a few people, and the words stuck because everyone at this wedding had the biggest smiles on their faces from sun up to sun down. It was such a special day filled with incredible people! Here are a few photos from Kristin and Brett’s wedding day in Moose Jaw <3

Abby and Tyler managed to fit so many great things into their wedding day! From overflowing champagne bottles, and puppy visits, to Burt Reynolds shots and a hilarious game of Jenga, it was all wonderful! They had me laughing and smiling from the beginning of the day straight through until I was packing my car to leave. And Tyler, I don’t think I have ever laughed so hard at a ‘thank you’ speech in all my life, you made my night!

I’ve been looking forward to this wedding for a long time now! Sara and Chad are the cutest, sweetest couple and I knew we were going to have a blast working together. When their big day finally rolled around, it definitely did not disappoint! They had gorgeous weather and an all-around love filled day. Here are a few photos from their Regina celebrations.

First look with her bridesmaids, followed by a first look with her Dad. I would by lying if I said I didn’t shed a few tears!

This small series of photos totally cracks me up! This was Sara’s reaction when she realized that Chad had saved his vows to his phone to read during the ceremony!

Last Saturday I was back in my hometown, Moose Jaw, to celebrate Jadon and Mikaela’s wedding day! Every single moment of this day was so special, making it a wedding I won’t soon forget. From the bride and groom having a few quiet moments to pray for each other before the ceremony, to them climbing trees in the park, to all of the kind words shared with them throughout the evening. Here are a few photos from Jadon and Mikaela’s wedding day.

First looks with Dad’s always get me right in the feels!

A quick prayer for each other, moments before their ceremony!

This curly-haired ring bearer was SO proud of making it all the way up the aisle and delivering the rings. After the hand-off, he turned to the crowd with the biggest smile on his face, clapping his hands at his accomplishment. It was the cutest thing ever!

Where do I even start with this one?! This day was so incredibly special and I feel so fortunate that Brad and Tabitha asked me to be a part of it! These two wonderful people recently celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary and to celebrate they renewed their vows inside the walls of the Stone Hall Castle in Regina. After spending some time wandering around the castle, we headed down to the park and wrapped our evening together with a canoe rental (from the incredibly accommodating and wonderful people at Wascana Canoe and Kayak) for some photos on Wascana Lake. Brad and Tabitha, thank you so much for inviting me to capture these special moments for you two and happy anniversary!

And I love you so
The people ask me how
How I’ve lived til now
I tell them I don’t know
And you love me too
Your thoughts are just for me
You set my spirit free
I’m happy that you do

And yes I know how lonely life can be
The shadows follow me
And the night won’t let me be
But I don’t let the evening get me down
Now that you’re around me

The book of life is brief
And once a page is read
All but love is dead
That is my belief

And I love you so
I’m such a happy man
Life began again
The day you took my hand

We had a few bitterly cold days this winter. Unfortunately, Emma and JR’s engagement session was scheduled for one of those days. We didn’t let that prevent us from shooting though, we just moved our session into their beautiful home where they cuddled up with their pets for a really fun and cozy in-home engagement session! I always love when clients include their pets in their sessions, so this truly ended up being the perfect shoot for these two and their family 🙂

There’s just something about New Year’s Eve weddings, a celebration that closes one year and opens the next. There’s a different feel to these weddings, a certain magic that comes along with a December 31st wedding. I’m always thrilled to have the opportunity to photography New Year’s Eve weddings, but I’ve had the honor of getting to know and working with this incredible couple since their amazing little guy was brand new, and that made this day even more special. Here are a few photos from Chris, Kirsten, and Tucker’s big day 🙂

When we looked at at the forecast and realized Ashley and Craig’s wedding day would likely be a wet one, Ashley responded, “I actually kind of hoped it would rain”. THAT, is my favorite kind of bride! They didn’t let the cooler temperatures and wet weather get them down; they just grabbed umbrellas and walked through the puddles 🙂  Here are a few photos from their big day!

Last Saturday we packed up the car and drove the gorgeous drive out to Sturgis, Sk (yes, there’s a Sturgis in Saskatchewan too!) for Brenden and MaKayla’s wedding day! It turned out to be a beautiful day in a stunning location with an incredible couple! Here are a few photos from their big day!

Aimee and Beata said their ‘I do’s’ in the back yard, overlooking Lumsden valley and there wasn’t a dry eye in yard! Everything from the hand-woven dream catchers to the song Beata surprised Aimee with at the alter was beyond perfect and made this wedding one I won’t soon forget! This special day was a true pleasure to photograph and I hope you enjoy their preview as much as I enjoyed photographing it!
